The fantastic blight-resistant Mountain Magic tomatoes are still ripening in the greenhouse. Conventional wisdom suggests that these should have been cut down a month ago on the basis that they would no longer ripen properly. I’ve always ignored this and in previous years, weather permitting, I’ve harvested tomatoes well into November. In the other greenhouse the ‘Akron’ tomatoes were affected by late blight but ruthless removal of leaves and the onset of colder weather has more or less eliminated it.
